Messages User Permissions

You must grant the appropriate Messages User Permissions to the Users who are responsible for Messages. You can grant all Messages-related permissions by granting the Manage Messages User Permission, or you can grant or deny specific Messages-related sub permissions as needed.

On the ControlPanel:

Click

on the Users menu to expand it.

Click Users.

Collapsed Search for the Users for whom you want to manage permissions.

Filter	Description
Usernames Beginning With	Click the first letter of a username or [0-9] to display all usernames beginning with the option you selected. You can also click [Show All] to display all Users.
Field(s) Containing	Type a Username, First Name, or Last Name, or any combination of the three. You can also type partial usernames, first names or last names if you are unsure of the exact spelling or if you want to broaden your search.
Users with Status	Select one or more of the following check boxes to search for usernames by status. The more check boxes you select, the broader your search. Denied Access - Users whose access to the LearnCenter is denied because they have not been approved by an Administrator. They can only access the LearnCenter when an Admin approves them. Pending Approval - Users who are awaiting approval to use the LearnCenter. Approved - Users who have been approved to use the LearnCenter Approved Users can access the LearnCenter. Removed - Users who have been removed from the LearnCenter. Disabled Access - Users who are approved, but who failed logging in multiple times, based on the settings for the LearnCenter password lockout feature. They cannot access the LearnCenter until an Administrator removes the lockout flag on their User accounts. Note: See Customizing the Login Lockout Feature for additional information on setting up the Login Lockout feature. If you do not select any of the check boxes, the search is performed on Users of all statuses except Removed. Note: See Customizing the Login Lockout Feature in online help for additional information on setting up the Login Lockout feature. If you do not select any of the check boxes, the search is performed on Users of all statuses except Removed.
*User Group	This field displays if you are using the classic Groups functionality. You can search for users who are part of groups. Select (highlight) the group name in User Group box. If you want to further filter by sub group, click Sub Groups and then select the sub group name in the box. Click Show Users to display the members of this group in the User List.
*Groups	This field displays if you are using the new Groups functionality. Select the Group you want from the drop-down list. Notice that the unique Group Code is listed next to the Group Name in the list.
Display	Decide how many results you want to display on the page and select it from the Display drop-down list. The default number of records displayed on the page is 50. You can change this by selecting a different number from the Display drop-down list. You can display up to 1000 records.

Click

next to a User.

Click

next to Manage Messages to expand the list of permissions.

Click the check box next to a permission to grant it to the User.
or
Clear the check box to deny the permission to the User.

Click Save.

Each permission is described below.

If you are using the classic Groups functionality that was available prior to LearnCenter release 14.6, the permissions marked with an asterisk (*) will become available when you migrate to the new Groups functionality.

Permission	Description
Manage Messages	Grant this permission to any Users who are responsible for customizing and managing LearnCenter communication messages.
Customize Certification Track Messages	Enables Users to customize user Certification Track messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize user Certification Track messages.
Customize Completion Status Messages	Enables Users to customize user Completion Status messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize user Completion Status messages.
Customize Conference Messages	Enables Users to customize Course messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Course messages.
Customize Course Messages	Enables Users to customize Course messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Course messages.
Customize Credit Messages	Enables Users to customize Credit messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Credit messages.
Customize Learning Plan Messages	Enables Users to customize Learning Plan messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Learning Plan messages.
Customize eCommerce Messages	Enables Users to customize eCommerce messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize eCommerce messages.
Customize Training Offering Messages	Enables Users to customize Training Offerings Communication Messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Training Offerings Communication Messages.
Customize User Messages	Gives Admins the ability to customize User Communication Messages. If you deny this permission, Admins will not be able to customize User Communication Messages. You must also grant the View User Messages Permission in order to customize messages.
Customize Messages for each Enrollment	Enables Users to modify individual Enrollment communication messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to modify individual Enrollment communication messages.
Customize All Enrollment Messages in the LearnCenter	Enables Users to customize the default LearnCenter Enrollment notifications. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize the default LearnCenter Enrollment notifications.
Customize External Training Messages	Enables Users to customize External Training messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize External Training messages.
Customize Forum Communication Messages	Enables Users to customize Forum messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Forum messages.
*Customize Group Messages	Enables Users to customize Groups messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Groups messages.
Customize ILT Session Messages	Enables Users to customize messages for ILT sessions. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize messages for ILT sessions.
Customize PRQ Messages	Enables Users to customize messages for password recovery actions. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize messages for password recovery actions.
Customize Review Messages	Enables Users to customize Review messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize Review messages.
Customize Security Messages	Enables Users to customize the default security messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize the default security messages.
Customize Skill Messages	Enables Users to customize messages associated with Skills. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to customize messages associated with Skills.
Customize Job Profile Messages	Enables Admins to customize messages for use with Skill Network. If you deny this permission, Admins will not be able to customize messages for use with the Job Profiles Compare feature. Note: This User Permission only displays if you have activated Skill Network.htm.
Customize BI Reporting Messages
Restore Messages for Each Enrollment	Enables Users to restore the individual Enrollment communication messages back to the default state. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to restore the individual Enrollment communication messages back to the default state.
Restore All Enrollment Messages in the LearnCenter	Enables Users to restore the default LearnCenter messages back to their original state. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to restore the default LearnCenter messages back to their original state.
View Certification Track Messages	Enables Users to view Certification Track messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view Certification Track messages.
View Completion Status Messages	Enables Users to view Completion Status messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view completion status messages.
View Conference Messages	Enables Users to view conference message settings. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view conference settings.

View Messages for Each Enrollment	Enables Users to view Enrollment-specific communication messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view Enrollment-specific communication messages.
View All Enrollment Messages in the LearnCenter	Enables Users to view the default LearnCenter messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view the default LearnCenter messages.
View External Training Messages	Enables Users to view External Training messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view External Training messages.
View Forum Messages	Enables Users to view Forum messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view Forum messages.

View Security Messages	Enables Users to view security messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view security messages.
View Skill Messages	Enables Users to view messages associated with Skills. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view messages associated with Skills.
View Job Profile Messages	Enables Admins to view messages for use with the Job Profiles Compare feature. If you deny this permission, Admins will not be able to view messages for use with the Job Profiles Compare feature. Note: This User Permission only displays if you have activated the My Profile/Job Profile Compare feature which is sold separately from the regular LearnCenter feature set. View BI Reporting Messages
View Training Offering Messages	Enables Users to view Training Offerings Communication Messages. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view Training Offerings Communication Messages.
View User Messages	Enables Admins to view User Communication Messages. If you deny this permission, Admins will not be able to view User Communication Messages.

Gives Admins the ability to customize User Communication Messages. If you deny this permission, Admins will not be able to customize User Communication Messages. You must also grant the View User Messages Permission in order to customize messages.

Customize Messages for each Enrollment
